Look for cruise that Peter can join – north of “cancer” clothes protection not sufficient.

Martin, I can’t now understand after all the VOTING as to Country, place date ,month & area ,of Siblings re-union, , that it has now been decided (without voting) to have the dates changed due to area being prone to stormy weather, surely when it was voted on, this should and was considered ???

Also everyone will have to factor in the fact that by moving dates forward to October/November, the timeframe of UK Midterm school holidays (England Oct.20-27, 2023) (Scotland Oct.13-20).This will increase flight & Hotel costs, bearing in mind the last flight with TUI from Glasgow is around the 20th October?? plus in November there is thanksgiving that will increase costs further with reduced availability.

The only votes have been 1 for area – USA and 2 timing autumn 2023
That I recall anyway, more specific timing has been discussed in last two calls. If you want to vote on that suggest it

I assumed the September date was to coincide with Martin’s wedding on 16th September to allow him to have a wedding reception for the American families??? Is it that not relevant now??

Winnie We checked out the overall area of Bald Island at these two links and feel it’s rather remote with few entertainment resources other than the beach sites and personally-planned activities . The access is only by ferry from the town of South Port

Bald Head Island, historically Smith Island, is a village located on the east side of the Cape Fear River in Brunswick County, North Carolina, United States. Compared to the nearby city of Wilmington to the north, the village of Bald Head Island is small and remote.

It is accessible only by ferry from the nearby town of Southport .
Only government officials are allowed to drive the beach strand route. There are few cars on the island; instead, residents drive modified electric golf carts.
Bald Head Island is nationally recognized for its sea turtle nesting activity.

Wilmington, where the airport is, is not exactly “nearby”. It takes about an hour to drive from Wilmington to Southport where the ferry is. There is a baggage charge for overweight (over 50 lbs) bags and more than three bags.
